Re: [Essentially Ours] valerian
Hello Stacia,
I hope the following information will help. This is what I have in my file.
 Edith Chupp

Use Valerian (Baldrian) against neurological diseases, for instance
 Parkinson's. Per G. Young

Valerian - neuro protective properties. Sedative, hypnotic and
anti-convulsant effects - GABA-like action. Anxiety reducing. Gary used 2
capsules 3-4 times per day for pain relief of broken arm. Add 3 drops of
 Peppermint for taste.

Once called "all heal", Valerian has been treasured since medieval times.
It has been used for centuries for insomnia, migraines, aches and pains,
skin conditions and colic. Today Valerian Oil is often used for its
anti-bacterial qualities, as well as for its sedating properties.
Valerian's green, herbaceous aroma is said to be calming, relaxing,
 balancing and grounding.

(Fell in bathtub) I am so glad to hear you are using Ortho Sport. Many
people forget to use our massage oils or creams. You've chosen some great
oils. To answer your question, I would break out the big dogs - Vetiver and
Valerian. For such a large area, I would put 2 tablespoons of a carrier oil
like V6 or Olive oil in the palm of my hand and add 3-5 drops each of
Vetiver and Valerian. They sure stink but their effects can be felt within
the hour and because they are such powerful at healing injuries, most of
your healing will take place in the first two or three days so that in most
cases, you won't have to keep using it thereafter for pain.

Two years ago we learned to keep Vetiver and Valerian in our emergency kit.
My out-of-shape husband pulled the muscles in his thighs playing basketball
with the kids. We put Ortho Sport on his legs and I gave him a capsule of
five drops Vetiver and five drops Valerian. The second night we did the
same thing (only at night because he didn't want to stink at work.) and he
said he didn't need them anymore.

My son was beat up in school and came home with his elbow and forearm three
times its normal size. Vetiver and Valerian with Frankincense reduced his
swelling and bruising so much that the following Monday the principal didn't
even believe he was beat up.

Just two weeks ago, my daughter was using a steak knife to cut an orange
when she cut her finger to the bone. I always use Frankincense to stop
bleeding and add Melrose for regeneration and to prevent infection. We
flipped the finger over and added two drops each of Vetiver and Valerian.
(We always have them smell the bottle of Valerian to calm them down during
an injury.) Within the hour her pain level went from 10 to zero and she
didn't ever need the Vetiver and Valerian anymore after that. I always keep
three bottles of Vetiver and Valerian in our oil closet. Tiffany Rowan

.My eldest was trying to lock her sister out of the back door when the ring
finger on her right hand was caught in the closing door. The injury ripped
off her skin, the surface of her nerve endings and the ends of her blood
 vessels.

I stopped the bleeding instantaneously with Frankincense. The smell of
Frankincense brought her out of shock too. I drowned her finger in Melrose,
gauzed and taped it. She lay down on the couch in pain. PanAway and
Peppermint brought her pain level from a 20 to a 10. (I later bought
Valerian after remembering Rual's story). The nerve was damaged so severely
that her finger twitched consistently every second.

To make a long story short (this whole story will later be on
 www.oil-testimonial
after three weeks of the following regimen, everything completely healed
 including the nerves.

Three times a day she got 3 Super Cal (for parasympathetic and sympathetic
 nervous systems, nerve regeneration)
Peppermint directly in the wound and a generous amount of Animal Scents
Ointment to seal in the oils, keep them from evaporating and preventing
scabbing (which prevents scars). This also contains anti-bacterial and
anti-infectious properties. All covered with gauze and taped closed.

The skin showed two tiny new grafts by day two and the nerve quit twitching
by day three. On day four, I was hosting a "You Don't Catch Cancer" YL
meeting and showed my guests her healing finger. A pharmacist and two
nurses couldn't believe how great it looked. The wound never seeped, it
never bruised and it never scabbed.

I never got over the guilt of how much pain she suffered though. The
PanAway just wasn't enough. I figured, if Rual could get out of the
hospital the day after he collapsed a lung, broke 18 ribs in 23 places,
lacerated his elbow and damaged his knee by using Valerian (and another V
oil I can't remember by name), then I wanted this in my medicine cabinet for
my babies. I ordered it right away.

Sure enough, this same child closed the exact same finger in the door while
trying to keep her brother outside. Her pain level was just as intense.
She was in shock again. I put ONE drop of Valerian on her finger and
literally in five seconds her breathing slowed, she stopped screaming, she
relaxed her finger and just stared at it wondering if it was going to begin
hurting again. We both just stared at it for about ten minutes waiting for
 it to do something. Nothing!

I was so grateful we had this oil at that time. Just a few days later, this
same child got the worst poison ivy reaction ever on her face which spread
to her neck. Valerian by capsule helped with the pain!

Okay, so after all this, I hope you found some oils that will "feel right"
in your friend's situation. The oils work differently in each person's
body. Like our lack of proteins in DNA repair. Intuition with the oils is
your first best resource after studying the oils.

I love everyone's comments here and I love Frank for moderating this group.
I know this takes a lot of time from his schedule. I crave knowledge. The
training tapes, your posts and oil-testimonials.
these babies chemical free. I have been able to build a great group with
the same beliefs here in Little Rock. Thank you for your testimonies.
 Love, Tiffany
