Here are some testimonials I have saved. Good luck!

I diffused Peppermint oil to counter the general nausea, Gentle Baby and Peace
and Calming on mommy's feet and forehead (also on daddy's ears and forehead),
Evergreen Essence for muscle spasms (in the legs and shoulders), and "Labor
oil" on the ankles, lower stomach, and lower back. You would only use the
"labor oil" after labor has started. The recipe is:

4 drops helichrysum (I used white fir)
 4 drops fennel
 2 drops peppermint
 5 drops ylang ylang
 3 drops clary sage
1 ounce V6 or Massage oil base

The combination of oils and massage brought this mommy's usual labor time from
10-12 hours down to 5 hours. She also had no pain meds and had a completely
natural birth, whereas in the past she has always required an epidural and
c-section. The peace and calmness in the delivery room was truly amazing.

Oh, don't forget the Frankincense and Myrrh for after the birth.

 Have a wonderful time.

 Be well,

I also, used this "labor oil blend" on my daughter in-law 1 month
ago. She had a beautiful home birth. She used Geranium oil, undiluted, on her
perenium directly following the birth and for several days afterwards, as did
my other daughter in-law 1 1/2 years ago. It is wonderful in speeding up
healing to the area and greatly reducing pain. They could both sit with
almost no discomfort the next day. They also used Clary Sage on the tummy for
the cramping those first few days after the births. Neither used anything but
the oils, before, during, or after the births. Also used oils on the babies.
 Good luck!

I just went through labor and delivery with my daughter-in-
share our experience with the oils and acupressure.

First of all she used Gentle Baby on her perineum during the pregnancy to
lower the risk of tearing during delivery, she had only two stitches which
the doctor said was from a dotted line tear from her previous deliveries.
Praise the Lord that he gave us these wonderful, natural, gifts. I used the
oils suggested in the PDR after labor started. I mixed the following in a
 carrier oil:

 4 drops helichrysum
 4 drops fennel
 2 drops peppermint
 5 drops ylang ylang
 3 drops clary sage

We applied this mix to her ankle vita flex points and on acupressure points
 as follows:

In the center of the triangle made by the bones of the thumb and the fingers.
Can also be located at the end of the crease made by the index finger and
thumb when they are pressed together. Support the palm of the left hand in
the fingers of the right hand and locate the acupoint with the right thumb.
Apply acupressure, angling the thumb slightly towards the wrist. This
promotes uterine contractions and relieves labor pain. "Acupressure Step by
 Step," p. 154.

On the inside of the leg, 4 finger widths above the tip of the ankle bone and
just inside the bone of the leg (tibia). Measure up 4 finger widths from the
ankle bone with one hand and then use the middle or index fingers of the
other hand to locate the acupoint. Apply acupressure perpendicularly, or
angled slightly upwards towards the knee. This pressure point strengthens
the organs that support and regulate delivery and promotes effective uterine
contractions. "Acupressure Step by Step", P. 154

Also on the inside of the ankle in the depression level with the tip of the
ankle bone. Place the fingers over the top of the ankle for support and
locate the point with the thumb. Apply acupressure angled slightly downwards
towards the heel. The benefits of this pressure point strengthens the
kidneys, reduces fatigue and relieves labor pain. "Acupressure Step by
 Step", P 154

This information was taken from a book I purchased called "Acupressure Step
by Step" written by Jacqueline Young. I purchased this from Borders Books
 and Music.

 My daughter-in-
and acupressure. She said it helped her to focus during the labor. I must
tell you that my hands did cramp after the contractions began to come hard
and often. Luckily my daughter and my daughter-in-
part in the delivery and were able to help when my hands gave out. We used
all three acupressure points at the same time. My son, her husband, used
the hand point and my daughter and I used the leg and ankle points. We
marked her legs with ball point pen when we arrived at the hospital so that
we could go right to the points when she needed us to. Once the labor pains
began to come consistently and often we stayed at her feet until the doctor
needed us to move to prepare her for delivery.

I can't tell you what a blessed event this was. We were all part of this
baby's birth. Helping his Mom get through the hard part and then to
experience the actual birth. The Lord blessed us with a 9 lb. 3 1/2 oz.,
 healthy baby boy.

I pray that you and your daughter will choose to experience the miracle of
birth with the assistance of these wonderful oils and possibly, the
 acupressure.

 God's blessings,

In reading through this digest (way down towards the bottom), someone
asked what to use to prepare the perineum for birth. I don't know how to
send in info for the digest. In a digest from May 15, 2000 that you sent I
wrote down this info and used it on my sister. Her doctor was amazed that
she was more than 50% effaced just a few hours after labor began, and she
didn't need an episiotomy. Unfortunately the doctor did one ("it's
procedure") even though my sister told her specifically NOT to. Anyway,
these are the recipes we used:

 *Three weeks before delivery:
     8 drops geranium
     5 drops lavender
     1 oz. Almond oil
Mix and rub on the perineum three times a day. This helps to soften the
cervix, and thins the membrane to get ready for delivery.

 *One week before delivery:
     8 drops geranium
     5 drops lavender
     5 drops fennel
     1 oz. Almond oil

Just thought I'd pass this info along since it helped my sister so much.
And the woman who sent it in originally said it helped her daughter give
birth easier twice, with no long hard labor. My sister's labor was very
short, too, for her first baby.

9a. Inducing Labor naturally & my birth protocol

 Hi Andrea,

35 weeks seems quite a bit early to be inducing. Did your midwife
explain why? I used essential oils with the births of both of my
children. (daughter is almost 3 & son is 7 months.) I had a midwife
and birthed at home both times.

With my first pregnancy I was one day shy of 42 weeks along so I took
several capsules of Clary Sage and did acupressure. I went into labor
that night. With my son I went into labor naturally on the day he was
due. I took Clary Sage & used Jasmine Absolute to help speed things along.
(I love the smell of Jasmine.)

This is what I used during birthing and after:

 Mother:
 When Labor starts
 Ingest 3 capsules Clary Sage
 Ingest Fennel if needed
Diffuse Thieves in whichever room we are in.
Apply Valor on spine & hips to align hips
Apply Jasmine to the belly to speed up labor
Apply Clary Sage to Acupressure points to speed up labor
 During Labor
Diffuse Thieves in whichever room we are in.
Diffuse Peace & Calming if needed.
Apply White Angelica to chest to feel protected
Apply/Inhale Peace & Calming to neck to relax
Apply/Inhale Joy to neck or chest to be happy
Apply Idaho Balsam Fir to back, waist, belly, and legs for discomfort
Apply Lavender to wrists for comfort
 Apply Surrender anywhere
Apply Valor on spine & hips to align hips
Apply Jasmine to the belly to speed up labor
Apply Clary Sage to Acupressure points to speed up labor
Apply PanAway to back, shoulders, legs for pain
Use 20 drops Vetiver, 20 drops Valerian, and 3 drops
Peppermint on lower back for pain
If needed: Trauma Life, Release, Australian Blue
 Prior to Crowning
Apply En-R-Gee to the spine to be energized
Apply White Angelica to chest to feel protected
Apply Peace & Calming to neck to relax
 Apply Surrender anywhere
Apply Valor on spine & hips to align hips
Apply ClaraDerm liberally to perineum (perineum massage
 & hot compresses)
 During Crowning & Birth
Apply more ClaraDerm if needed (perineum pressure & hot
 compresses)
 Apply oils to baby
Immediately After Birth - before placenta
Apply Myrrh to umbilical cord while still pulsing
Apply Geranium to the belly to help expel placenta
Apply Jasmine to the belly to help expel placenta
 Afterwards
Apply Geranium to the belly to help tone uterus
Apply Jasmine to the belly to help tone uterus
Apply Frankincense to the belly to help tone uterus
Apply Roman Chamomile to the belly for pain
Apply Lavender to the belly for pain
If needed, apply Cistus and Helichrysum for hemorrhaging

 Baby:
 When crowning
Put diluted Frankincense on baby's head
Put diluted diluted Myrrh on baby's head
 After birth, apply diluted:
 Valor on baby's spine
 Trauma Life on baby's spine
 Frankincense on baby's spine
 Gentle Baby on baby's back
Idaho Balsam Fir on baby's back
 Lavender on baby's tummy
 Thieves on baby's feet
 Dilution ratio:
Use 1/2 tsp V-6 to 4 drops oil.

Let me know if you have any questions. I'm happy to help.
 Katilyn
