[oils_herbs_etc] Re: butters



Welcome aboard Charlene,

Just like when using oils for cooking, the lower one keeps the oil temps the more it helps them retain their beneficial properties and integrity. Warming them slowly also helps keep them from accidentally getting scorched. Lastly, the cooler some butters stay (i.e. shea butter), the better the re-solidified products' texture and consistency will remain over time.
