List Rules for Oils_Herbs_Etc

1. This list is meant to be a place where learning can occur. A relaxed atmosphere where nobody feels intimidated or afraid to express an opinion ... but at the same time expressing an opinion should not be an expression of anger or dislike for the messenger ... just disagreement with the message. If there is a disagreement of a message, it would be nice if the person disagreeing told why they disagreed instead of just outright slamming the message with no explanation.

2. No flaming! We can agree to disagree, but we can't be nasty about it. Asking
questions for the purpose of gaining information is acceptable and desired ...trying to give the Third Degree to other members is not.

3. This takes the flaming rule one step further. I will not tolerate folks taking out personality problems on this list, and bucking someone they don't like or respect. I will not have members of this list feel intimidated about posting because they are worried about having to get into a squabble.

The inappropriate behavior mentioned in the first 3 rules is not conducive to harmony of any list .. and especially not MY list because I intend on making this a safe and relaxing haven for folks to discuss matters of mutual interest.

4. No "adult" topic messages. This specifically means no pornographic/sexually explicit talk or links are to be posted here EVER! This will result in the immediate banning of any member violating this rule. No exceptions!

5. About selling: Members are allowed to and encouraged to post ads on Thursdays. But before any member posts an ad - whether it be for their shop, for a sale, a fast buy or a co-op they must register the following personal information with the list owner - name, address, phone number and e-mail address. This information must be kept up to date! This is for the protection of list members/consumers.

Please see list Rules Document on Advertising Requirements - All so in the List Rules Folder - to ensure you qualify to advertise before submitting your details to the list owner.

6. More about selling: We do not allow the selling of Fragrance Oils or other synthetic raw material items. Also, please do not misrepresent the items you are selling. This group has a trusting environment and I will not have my members exposed to potential rip offs in my group!

7. Please put OT in the subject line before off topic messages and AD in the subject line before advertisement messages. This is considered courtesy to all members of the list.

8. POSTING GUIDELINES:
Any off topic postings must be precluded by OT in the subject line.

No politics that is unrelated to natural living, medicine and other topics we cover here.

Please remember proper netiquette:
o *snip*, edit, and crop replies. This is especially important for the members who receive the digest.
o Please, no "me too" replies
o Keep signatures to the minimum size necessary - 4 lines max!
o Do not send attachments as the list will not accept them.

If your mail volume is too high, remember there are the following message delivery options:
o Daily Digest: all messages in one message (up to 25)
o Special notices: read all message on the group forum itself, but leave the option open for the list owner to make an important contact if necessary
o No Mail is NOT an option

Absolutely NO forwarding or copying, in whole or in part, of any messages or postings to others outside the list without the express, written consent of every author of a message included in the forward or copy.

10. The owner of this list reserves the right to moderate, remove and/or ban anyone from this list at any time with or without notice, especially if the rules have been violated. I do not enjoy doing this, but if I must to keep the harmony of this list, I will!

These rules are subject to amendments and updates as the list owner deems necessary!
