[Essentially Ours] Swine Flu
Hi all,
My cousin (by marriage) Lynette is an endocrinologist with the NIH. She asked that this info be crossposted. We're in danger of having a Swine Flu (SIV) pandemic and it could get real ugly real fast. There are only 2 anti-viral medications that are effective with SIV. I say get out the thieves!

Lynnette (Lynnette Nieman, M.D. of the National Institutes of Health) wants me to send out a message of concern about this new swine flu virus. We don't know how bad it's going to be, but it's something to be worried about. We all come into contact with people who've traveled and it's clear that this virus spreads from person to person. So, please be careful to wash your hands, especially before touching your eyes and mouth in this allergy season. It's not clear how serious this will be but it's a good thing to be careful. Flu usually is worse for the very old and the very young, but this one seems also to hurt young adults, so everyone should be careful and see a doctor right away if they have flu symptoms.
